Patients who are eligible for a flu vaccination will receive an invitation by SMS via the NHS App or by email over the coming weeks.
Anyone who has not received an invitation by mid-September is asked to contact their practice to arrange an appointment. The practice says its telephone lines are particularly busy in the mornings, so patients are asked to call after 2pm where possible.
Flu vaccination clinics
For children aged 2–3 and pregnant women, clinics will be held on Saturday 19 September 2026, from 8.30am, at both Overton Surgery and Kingsclere Health Centre.
For adults aged 65 and over, and those aged 18–64 who are in an eligible at-risk group, flu vaccination clinics will take place on:
- Saturday 3 October 2026
- Saturday 10 October 2026
These clinics will be available at Overton Surgery and Kingsclere Health Centre.
Additional flu clinics will also be held at Oakley Surgery from mid-October.
COVID-19 and flu vaccinations
For adults aged 75 and over, combined COVID-19 and flu vaccination clinics will take place on:
- Saturday 3 October 2026
- Saturday 10 October 2026
These will be available at Overton Surgery and Kingsclere Health Centre.
Watership Down Health has reminded patients that flu vaccinations for those aged 65–74, and COVID-19 and flu vaccinations for those aged 75 and over, cannot be given before 1 October 2026.
Once the practice reaches capacity, patients will need to book through NHS 119, with many community pharmacies also offering flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Patients are also being asked to book only one eligible vaccination appointment, either through Watership Down Health or at a community pharmacy, to help ensure appointments are available for everyone who needs one.
Watership Down Health thanked patients for their cooperation and said it looks forward to welcoming them to its autumn vaccination clinics.
